The Department of Orthopaedics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking applications for a full-time academic orthopaedic surgeon with specialization in hand and nerve surgery to join our Upper Extremity Service. The clinical focus will be hand, micro, and nerve surgery, with hand fellowship-trained candidates encouraged to apply.

The position includes taking general orthopaedic call, hand trauma and elective hand surgery, and microvascular reconstruction of the upper

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Orthopaedics.
• Completion of a one-year Hand Fellowship.
• DO/MD or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Specialize in hand, micro, and nerve surgery within the Upper Extremity Service.
• Take general orthopaedic call and manage hand trauma, elective hand surgery, and microvascular reconstruction of the upper extremities.
• Participate in education of medical students, residents, and fellows; contribute to clinical, education, and research missions.
• Engage in research across clinical, outcomes, health services, basic science, translational, ethics, education, or global surgery areas.
