Job summary

University of Georgia Libraries seeks an Academic Engagement Librarian to support instruction and research across disciplines, with emphasis on STEM. The role centers on developing and delivering effective information literacy programs, online and in-person, for students and researchers.

The librarian will lead in instruction design, assessment, and engagement, contributing to cross-functional teams, and expanding service areas.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience teaching or facilitating instruction in a library/academic context.
• Commitment to exploring new trends in the field and integrating new ideas into practice.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
• Interest or aptitude in STEM and Health Science disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Teach roughly 2–3 instruction sessions each week, depending on total requests and capacity.
• Engage with team discussions about new service directions and campus outreach.
• Develop instructional materials in a variety of formats to meet student needs.
• Work on projects aligned with Library priorities, e.g., online learning modules and assessment.
• Develop expertise in areas such as citation management, systematic reviews, or AI literacy.
• Provide reference assistance and research consultations; support for systematic reviews.

Education

ALA-accredited master's degree in librarianship/information science
