Job Description – Fulfillment of Mission

We are seeking outstanding applicants to consider for an Academic Coach: K-3 for the 2026-2027 school year. This position serves Classical Charter Schools of Whiteville. Applicants should be flexible, data driven, adept at classroom management techniques, and can demonstrate success in building rapport with a diverse population of students, teachers and administration. Applications will be open through Friday, August 14, 2026.

Academic Coach – Job Responsibilities
  • The Coach is responsible for ensuring that teachers are capable of achieving the learning goals and instructional methods for each grade level in the subject area(s) of his or her responsibility that will best fulfill the Mission.
  • In conjunction with the Lead Teachers, the Coach is responsible for seeing that assessments, benchmarking, and pacing guides for use throughout the year by teachers for tracking student progress are being correctly followed.
  • Along with the Deans and Administrators, the Coach is responsible for gathering observational measurement criteria in helping teachers improve their delivery and instructional effectiveness with the subject curriculum.
  • The Coach is responsible for delivering training sessions for Teachers and Assistant Teachers in how to effectively deliver the curriculum so that every student learns. They shall also supervise Coaches-in-Training.
  • The Coach supports the Dean to continually improve the curriculum and its delivery techniques, training and support materials.
Other Duties

Meeting these responsibilities require traveling to and from different campus locations, clear communication between Dean and leadership at each school, and assisting with the acquisition of materials for each campus needed for student and teacher success. Coaches assist the Deans to disseminate information and work closely with administration to be sure all components of the organization are working cooperatively and attaining the Mission in our classrooms.

The Academic Coach reports to their respective Dean(s).

The position of Coach is an 11-month RBA position and follows the RBA calendar.

Qualifications
  • A Coach will have an extensive academic background in their content area or responsibility. A Master’s degree or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
  • A Coach will have extensive classroom experience in the grades for which they are responsible.
  • A Coach will have achieved passing scores on the tests specified by RBA for their subject specialty.
  • Coursework in Applied Behavior Analysis, Probability and Statistics, and in the subject specialty departments are highly desirable and will command a salary increment commensurate with the additional work.
  • Physical ability to lift/carry 20 lbs.and dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job.
