Job summary

Anova Education in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking an Academic Coach for the Young Adult Transition Program. This part-time, in-person role focuses on helping neurodiverse young adults develop executive functioning, organization, study habits, and self-advocacy to succeed in college.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, social work, counseling, math and computer science or a related field.
• Teaching/tutoring experience (1+ year preferred).
• Experience supporting students with learning differences or special education (preferred).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to tailor instruction to individual learning needs.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized academic coaching and tutoring based on each student's learning style, strengths, and academic goals.
• Review syllabi, assignments, grades, and course requirements to help students create realistic semester and weekly plans.
• Teach and reinforce executive functioning skills, including organization, time management, prioritization, task initiation, and study strategies.
• Help students prepare for exams, complete projects, and develop effective note-taking and learning techniques.
• Support students in communicating with professors, academic advisors, and campus Disability Support Services (DSS) when appropriate.
• Foster self-advocacy, problem-solving, and independent learning skills.
