The University of Pennsylvania and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia seek several Associate or Full Professors in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Responsibilities include teaching in a dynamic medical environment and patient care in a busy Emergency Department. Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Emergency Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania are seeking candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Applicants must hold an M.D. or equivalent degree, with certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or eligibility for Board certification. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities include teaching medical students, residents, and fellows in the Division of Emergency Medicine, and providing direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department with approximately 100,000 visits annually. Clinical roles are also available at our affiliate institutions, Virtua Voorhees in Southern New Jersey and the King of Prussia Center in PA, which include academic appointments and clinical shifts. The distribution of clinical activity can be tailored to the candidate's interests, with significant time expected at CHOP Main.
Ideal candidates will have experience in large, complex medical systems, and be comfortable caring for a broad spectrum of pediatric diagnoses. Effective communication and teamwork skills are essential.
