Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking an Anesthetist to join IU Health Physicians in Indianapolis, IN. The role includes inpatient and outpatient anesthesia across multiple disciplines with plans to expand coverage to vascular, cardiac, and OB.

Responsibilities include IV placement, airway management, arterial and central line placement, and both general and regional anesthesia. A faculty appointment and involvement in teaching are anticipated.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated with a Master’s degree from a CAAHEP accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant Program.
• Must have passed the Certifying Examination for Anesthesiologist Assistants or the CDQ examination and hold current certification.
• Must have graduated from Master’s level Nurse Anesthesia program accredited by the Council on Accreditation.
• Must have passed the National Certification Examination and hold current certification from the Council of Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in Indiana.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient and outpatient responsibilities including endoscopy, ERCP, GYN, ENT, dental, plastics, urology, ortho, trauma, NORA, general, neuro and spine.
• Procedures include IV placement, airway management, arterial and central cath placement, general and regional anesthesia.
• Participation in training of students, residents and fellows; potential faculty appointment.

Education

Master’s degree (AA) from CAAHEP-accredited Anesthesiologist Assistant Program

Master’s level Nurse Anesthesia program (CRNA)

ACLS and PALS certifications

Indiana licensure or eligibility
