In this pivotal role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring the smooth operations of the Office of the Provost, working directly with the Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, the Vice-Provost for Faculty Affairs, and the Assistant Vice provost for Workforce Development. From managing important projects and supporting faculty development initiatives to assisting with accreditation efforts and planning engaging events, you’ll help drive academic success across campus. The Academic Affairs Coordinator provides comprehensive administrative, operational, and programmatic support to the Office of the Provost. The Academic Affairs Coordinator reports to the Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of internal operations, the coordination of academic functions, including accreditation-related projects, and faculty development functions. Additional responsibilities include academic affairs and faculty affairs reporting functions, maintaining records, managing schedules, planning and coordinating events, assisting with academic policy updates as needed, and acting as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders. The Academic Affairs Coordinator collaborates closely with colleagues across the university to ensure alignment with institutional priorities and provides backup support to executive office staff as needed.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others. This position is not eligible for remote work. This position is housed in the Office of the Provost in the Administration Building.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education

Applicable Equivalencies May Be Considered For The Above Qualifications.

  • At least two years of administrative, professional, or business management support experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a higher education environment, including supporting the operations of a fast-paced, complex academic unit at a higher education institution
  • Experience with event planning
  • Experience working with webpage maintenance
  • Experience working with Workday

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs)

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn new systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently as well as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures accurately

Additional Information

Salary Information:

$51,020.96 - $57,399 (Commensurate with education and experience)
