Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field.
• 3+ years of pre-qualifying experience.
• Ability to work evenings/weekends with advance notice.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising to prospective and returning students.
• Explain policies, procedures, and program requirements and assist students in selecting educational and career goals.
• Assist with registration; verify student prerequisites and requirements.
• Use MySuccess, the College’s early alert software program, to correspond with students who have concerns.
• Provide advising and guidance to at‑risk students whose progress is not satisfactory.
• Maintain records/files on advising activities and student information.
• Stay current on national trends and processes regarding academic advising.
• Publicize and promote services, resources, and activities of the College.
• Act as a liaison for tutoring, academic concerns, and personal counseling needs.
• Participate in faculty and divisional meetings, as requested.
• Assist with recruitment and retention activities.
• Assist with graduation and other College-related duties.
• Participate in professional and staff development opportunities.
