Job summary

The University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for an Academic Advisor 2 in the School of Social Work to provide comprehensive academic advising and student support to undergraduate Social Work students, assisting with planning, course selection, progression requirements, and degree completion.

The successful candidate will advise a diverse population including first-year, transfer, online, and continuing students; support pre-major Social Work students through the BSW application process;

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and two years of related work experience or a Master’s Degree and one year of related work experience.
• Related experience: Academic advising, teaching, student services, social work, or related.
• Experience advising students in higher education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive academic advising to undergraduate Social Work students.
• Assist with admissions, recruitment, retention initiatives, and student-centered programming.
• Support pre-major Social Work students through the BSW application process.
• Collaborate with faculty and campus partners on student success initiatives.
• Build relationships with community partners to promote Social Work education.
