Description

Provides comprehensive advising to a diverse student populationwith moderate independence. Handles more complex cases and supportsstudent success initiatives.

  • 1. Advises students on academic planning and degree completionstrategies, as well as academic progress concerns (probation,retention).
  • 2. Analyzes degree audits and recommends solutions.
  • 3. Identifies at-risk students and develops interventionplans.
  • 4. Participates in recruitment, advising workshops, andoutreach.
  • 5. Collaborates with faculty and departments on studentissues.
  • 6. Maintains caseload of students and tracks outcomes.
  • 7. Processes Veteran's Administration paperwork, writes graduationverification letters, and provides financial aid appeals.
  • 8. May assist in recruiting high school and community collegestudents and may make presentations at special events.
  • 9. Performs other job-related duties as required.
Additional Position Information

This position works in the Department of Accountancy & Taxationat the C. T. Bauer College of Business. This position engages withstudents to advise them on academic requirements for degreeprogress, course selection, policies, procedures, and resourcesbased on an assessment of individual student needs.

Successful candidates will have the ability to work independentlyas well as part of a team, work well under pressure, consistentlymeet deadlines, and manage multiple projects while remainingflexible and positive. This will require exceptional organizationalskills and attention to detail.

Position includes the following responsibilities but notlimited to:

Qualifications

Education will be considered inlieu of experience.

MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical andpractical aspects of an analytical, technical or professionaldiscipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professionaldiscipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtainedthrough a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a collegeor university or an equivalent in-depth specialized trainingprogram that is directly related to the type of work beingperformed. Requires a minimum of one (1) year of directlyjob-related experience.
