The Academic Advising Manager provides leadership, coordination, and oversight for academic advising services within the University of Georgia School of Social Work ( SSW ). The position serves as the primary administrative and operational leader for the School’s academic advising team and is responsible for ensuring the delivery of consistent, high-quality, student-centered academic advising across the School’s undergraduate and graduate programs.
The Academic Advising Manager directly supervises three academic advisors ( BSW , MNML and MSW [Athens, Gwinnett and Online], providing leadership, direction, professional development, performance management, workload coordination, and support to ensure advising services meet the academic and student-success goals of the School of Social Work and the University of Georgia.
In addition to supervisory responsibilities, the Academic Advising Manager provides complex academic advising to students, interprets University and School policies and degree requirements, monitors student progression and retention, and serves as a key liaison among academic advisors, program directors, faculty, associate deans, the Dean’s Office, and other University offices.
