Job summary

Lake Superior State University is seeking an Academic Accessibility Services Coordinator to work with faculty, staff, and external providers to coordinate and implement services for students with disabilities.

The role reviews and establishes reasonable accommodations under the ADA, Section 504, and the Fair Housing Act, maintains confidential records, conducts intake, and arranges adaptive technologies and supports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Education, Psychology, or a related field.
• Knowledge of ADA, Section 504, and Fair Housing Act as applied to postsecondary education.
• Demonstrated ability to review, interpret, and apply disability documentation in a college context.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement services for students with disabilities with faculty, staff, and external providers.
• Review and establish reasonable accommodations under the ADA, Section 504, and related acts.
• Serve as a resource for academic accessibility information across campus.
• Maintain confidential cumulative records of all students served.
• Complete intake, determine eligibility, and arrange accommodations and adaptive technology as needed.
• Develop and update Academic Accessibility Services policies and procedures.
• Liaise with Housing and Student Life to ensure ADA compliance and assist housing/service animal accommodations.
• Represent the unit at campus events and participate in committees.
