Job summary

Metra is seeking a licensed AC Electrician to join its Engineering team in the Chicago area. The role covers installing and maintaining electrical systems, HVAC wiring, and medium-voltage distribution across stations, yards, and facilities.

The candidate will handle documentation, inventory, and be on-call for after-hours emergencies. The position requires a Bachelor's in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience, a valid Journeyman Electrician status (or 4+ years), and a CDL

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
• Journeyman Electrician or 4+ years of equivalent experience.
• CDL Class B with air brakes endorsement (14 days to obtain CDL permit, 60 days to obtain CDL).
• Able to climb ladders and work from an elevated position using line belt/bucket truck.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical work including utility pole and/or steel structure work and MV equipment wiring.
• Install and repair HVAC systems and support infrastructure within Metra facilities.
• Handle paperwork, inventory replenishment, and be available for after-hours callouts.
