Job summary

Connect-Force is seeking an Abrasives Lead for a confidential manufacturing opportunity in Farmington Hills, MI. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing daily abrasive production with emphasis on raw material prep, mixing, accuracy, and safety.

You'll guide a production team, ensure strict adherence to formulas and specifications, and partner with engineering and quality to drive continuous improvement and process discipline.

Qualifications

• Lead-level position with prior leadership experience.
• Backgrounds such as abrasives manufacturing, chemical processing, batch mixing, raw materials, ceramics.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support employees within the abrasives production area while helping coordinate daily workflow and priorities.
• Accurately measure, weigh, mix, and prepare raw materials according to established formulas and specifications.
• Verify that the correct materials, quantities, and formulations are being used for each production order.
• Maintain an extremely high level of accuracy throughout the mixing and production process.
• Monitor processes to ensure consistency, quality, and adherence to specifications.
• Assist with forming, pressing, sintering, finishing, and/or other abrasive manufacturing processes as required.
• Identify production or quality concerns and work with appropriate team members to determine corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate production, batch, material, and quality documentation.
• Train and mentor team members on proper procedures, safety requirements, quality expectations, and manufacturing processes.
• Help organize workload and ensure production requirements are completed efficiently.
• Promote a clean, organized, and safety-focused working environment.
• Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and management teams to improve processes and production results.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve quality, consistency, efficiency, and material utilization.
