Job summary

Akima Facilities Operations is seeking a Blaster to work on-site in Pennsylvania. Responsibilities include removing coatings and contaminants from surfaces, operating blasting equipment, prepping items, and maintaining equipment while following safety protocols.

A forklift license may be requested for certain tasks and occasional equipment maintenance is required. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years of related experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• 1-3 years of experience in the field.
• Must be able to lean and operate forklift upon request.

Responsibilities

• Remove rust, scale, paint, corrosion, and other materials from surfaces.
• Operate abrasive blasting equipment and prepare items for blasting.
• Set up equipment and select abrasive material for each job.
• Adjust nozzle angles and air pressure for surface cleaning.
• Ensure safety procedures and PPE are used.
• Perform minor maintenance on blasting equipment.
