Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage Ability Campers in regularly scheduled camp activities and provide pull-out opportunities for campers who may need them.
• Provide instructional support and age appropriate progressive skill development in the program.
• Adapt program activities according to camper's needs.
• Provide feedback to participants and parents/guardians on individual performance.
• Ensure program area is safe and clear of any hazards.

What is needed to be an Ability Camp Counselor:

• 18+ years of age
• Experience working with the Special Needs community (professional, volunteer, or familial)
• 1+ years of experience working with children
• Experience in aquatics, fitness, or related activities
• Excellent communication skills
• Ensure that programs are executed to meet the needs of all ages, abilities, and skill levels as well as maintaining safety and well-being of campers
