Job summary

Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic, a leading community health center in the Northwest, seeks an Relief Northwest Community Action Center Instructor to deliver Adult Basic Education and GED-prep programs. You’ll prepare lesson plans, differentiate instruction, and track attendance to support students’ educational goals and pathways to employment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with case management, volunteer tutors, and program staff, with a focus on accessible, inclusive education for adults

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience teaching adults and/or teenagers required.
• Certification and/or demonstrated knowledge of the subject matter being instructed
• Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Communication, Business Administration, or related field is preferred

Responsibilities

• Teach Adult Basic Education (ABE) classes to improve English language skills and increase educational attainment.
• Instruction is designed to prepare students for the GED, post-secondary education, and/or the workforce.
• Prepare lesson plans for students in several learning areas.
• Design, develop, and deliver learning opportunities and assess individual academic progress.
• Differentiate instruction to meet individual student’s needs and various learning styles.
• Document and report student attendance and progress.
• Incorporate Life Skills, Leadership, Vocational Skills, and other relevant learning opportunities.
• Attend case management meetings and provide feedback on participants.
• Solicit, screen, and orient volunteer tutors.
• Perform other duties as assigned
