Comprehensive Prosthetics & Orthotics (CPO) in Springfield, IL, is seeking an ABC-Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO) for our outpatient clinic serving Central Illinois. You will evaluate patients, develop prosthetic and orthotic treatment plans, and manage care from evaluation through follow-up.

Qualifications

• Current ABC certification as a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist (CPO).
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain state licensure for the position.
• Strong knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy, prosthetic and orthotic componentry, and rehabilitation principles.
• Ability to independently manage a patient caseload and maintain timely clinical documentation.
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to ethical, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized prosthetic and orthotic treatment plans.
• Design, fit, align, adjust, and troubleshoot devices for comfort, mobility and function.
• Perform gait analysis and functional assessments throughout treatment.
• Educate patients and caregivers on device use and rehabilitation goals.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers and other health professionals.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation supporting continuity of care and Medicare compliance.
• Develop relationships with referral partners in Springfield and Central Illinois.
• Deliver care in accordance with ABC standards, state regulations and payer requirements.
• Provide mentorship within the clinic and foster a collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do

• Evaluate patients and develop individualized prosthetic and orthotic treatment plans.
• Design, fit, align, adjust, and troubleshoot prosthetic and orthotic devices to support comfort, mobility, and long-term function.
• Perform gait analysis and functional assessments throughout the course of treatment.
• Educate patients and caregivers regarding device use, wear schedules, rehabilitation goals, and ongoing care.
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation supporting continuity of care, reimbursement, and Medicare compliance.
• Develop and maintain trusted relationships with referral partners throughout the Springfield and Central Illinois region.
• Deliver care in accordance with ABC standards, applicable state regulations, payer requirements, and clinical best practices.
• Contribute to a professional, collaborative clinic environment and provide mentorship when appropriate.

What You’ll Bring

Required

• Current ABC certification as a Certified Prosthetist Orthotist.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain all state licensure required for the position.
• Strong knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy, prosthetic and orthotic componentry, and rehabilitation principles.
• Ability to independently manage a patient caseload and maintain timely clinical documentation.
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to ethical, patient-centered care.

Preferred

• Two or more years of clinical O&P experience.
• Experience developing physician, therapist, or other healthcare referral relationships.
• Clinical leadership or mentorship experience.
• Experience working within a growing outpatient O&P practice.

Compensation And Benefits

• Base salary starting at $80,000 for newly certified CPOs.
• Experienced clinicians will receive additional compensation based on experience, specialty expertise, and leadership contributions.
