Job summary

A leading manufacturer in Kansas City is seeking an Abbey Mill Operator for the third shift. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating the Abbey steel tube mill to ensure maximum production. This role requires strong mechanical skills, prior experience in manufacturing, and effective leadership in a fast-paced environment. Qualifications

• Work in a warehouse or mill environment with an uncontrolled climate.
• Willingness to wear required personal protective equipment at all times.
• Ability to perform work in dusty and noisy conditions within OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate the Abbey steel tube mill to meet production requirements.
• Lead and support Abbey Mill team members to achieve production goals.
• Monitor tubing quality and implement corrective actions when issues arise.
• Complete daily production records and time sheets accurately.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines, including lockout/tagout.

Skills

Manufacturing or mill operating experience

Ability to read, interpret, and use micrometers, pi tape, levels, and tape measures

Experience operating equipment such as overhead cranes

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Self-motivated with attention to detail

Problem-solving and mechanical comprehension skills

Team-oriented mindset

Education

High school diploma or GED
