Job Summary
The Abatement Technician must be able to work in compliance on asbestos abatement and industrial maintenance projects. Adhere to and maintain strict compliance with corporate/office policies and procedures, established health and safety protocols, and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute field work involved in asbestos abatement projects under supervision.
- Complete all job-specific paperwork, including Timesheets, Daily Work Reports, Driver’s Logs, and Safety Meeting Forms.
- Work within project scope and adhere to contract documents, schedules, and policies.
- Work safely during all job duties.
- Perform work in confined or varying environments, including squatting and crawling.
- Follow directions, read and understand English, and interpret safety labels and plans.
- Safely operate and inspect company vehicles.
- Be prepared for out-of-town travel for extended periods.
- Comply with safety standards of the company and clients.
- Work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions and environments that may involve hazards like chemicals, heights, or loud noises.
- Perform physical activities such as standing, walking, crouching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Maintain a clean-shaven appearance to ensure respirator seal integrity.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED, with 2-3 years' experience in abatement projects.
- Experience in related fields like emergency response or construction is preferred.
- Virginia abatement license and 32-hour Abatement Worker's Certification required.
- Valid driver’s license; TWIC and OSHA 40-HR HAZWOPER, Confined Space, and Lead Awareness certifications are preferred.
- Successful background and drug screening are mandatory.
