Job summary

Capgemini seeks an experienced Abaqus FEA Modeler to join our Cupertino, CA team onsite. You will build high-fidelity finite element models, perform geometry cleanup, and craft robust meshes for structural and thermal analyses.

The role requires NX CAD proficiency and scripting for automation. You will collaborate with engineering colleagues to support product validation, optimize designs, and document methodologies and results in technical reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in FEA, Abaqus CAE modeling and simulation, including structural and thermal analysis.
• Proficiency with NX CAD for geometry cleanup and model prep.
• Candidates with ANSA and HyperMesh experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Python scripting for automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed finite element models using Abaqus CAE for structural, mechanical, and thermal simulations.
• Perform geometry cleanup, defeaturing, and prep using NX CAD and other preprocessing tools.
• Create high-quality meshes using advanced meshing techniques for accuracy and efficiency.
• Execute pre- and post-processing for complex FEA simulations.
• Define and implement material models from lab data and requirements.
• Apply manual and automated meshing and scripting for element grouping and keyword management.
• Troubleshoot convergence issues and performance bottlenecks.
• Interpret results and provide actionable engineering recommendations.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams for product validation.
• Document methodologies, results, and recommendations in technical reports.
• Stay current with FEA trends and best practices.
