Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a skilled Abaqus FEA Modeler to join our on-site engineering team in Cupertino, CA. You will develop detailed Abaqus CAE models for structural, mechanical, and thermal analyses, and collaborate with design and product teams to validate and optimize designs.

The role requires expertise in meshing, preprocessing, material modeling from lab data, and scripting in Python to automate workflows. On-site work in Cupertino offers collaboration with cross-disciplinary engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in FEA, Abaqus CAE modeling, and structural/thermal analysis.
• Experience with FEA software, simulation workflows, and mesh generation.
• Proficient in meshing and preprocessing techniques.
• NX CAD required; ANSA preferred; scripting in Python encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed finite element models using Abaqus CAE for structural, mechanical, and thermal simulations.
• Perform geometry cleanup and preparation using NX CAD and other preprocessing tools.
• Create high-quality meshes with advanced techniques for accuracy and efficiency.
• Execute pre- and post-processing for complex FEA simulations.
• Define material models from lab data and engineering requirements.
• Troubleshoot convergence and performance issues; interpret results.
• Collaborate with design and product teams to support validation.
• Document analysis methods, results, and recommendations in reports.
