Job summary

Asteri Behavioral Treatment Center in Gardena, CA is hiring Behavior Technicians to provide one-on-one ABA therapy in clients' homes. You will implement treatment plans created by a BCBA and help children develop communication, social, and daily living skills.

We offer paid RBT and clinical training, mileage reimbursement, and flexible scheduling to support work–life balance while contributing to meaningful progress in young learners.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates strong communication and professionalism in interactions with families and staff.
• Experience with children is a plus but not required.
• Comfortable with data collection and behavior intervention techniques.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one ABA therapy in clients' homes.
• Implement individualized treatment plans developed by a BCBA.
• Teach communication, social, play, self-help, and daily living skills.
• Help reduce challenging behaviors using positive, evidence-based strategies.
• Collect accurate session data and complete clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with supervising clinicians to support client progress.
• Communicate professionally with families and caregivers.
• Attend ongoing training and team meetings.

What is Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)?

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based approach that helps children with autism and other developmental disabilities learn meaningful skills that support greater independence in their everyday lives.

Through personalized, engaging sessions, Behavior Technicians work one-on-one with children to strengthen communication, social, play, coping, and daily living skills. Using positive reinforcement and individualized strategies, they also help children develop safer and more effective ways to navigate challenging behaviors.

ABA is all about celebrating progress—whether it’s learning to communicate a need, completing a daily routine, interacting with others, or reaching a new milestone. Typical Sessions:

• 2–5 hours per session
• Children primarily ages 3–17 years
• Afternoon and evening schedules

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor's degree preferred)
• Experience working with children is a plus, but not required
• Available a minimum of 15 hours per week
• Afternoon/evening availability between 1:00 PM and 8:00 PM
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance and registration
• Willing to travel up to 25 miles from your home for client sessions
• Strong communication, professionalism, and organizational skills
• Comfortable learning data collection and behavior intervention techniques
