Job summary

Marblehead Public Schools is seeking an Elementary ABA Teacher for Glover School to provide specialized instruction and behavioral support to K–3 students with autism and developmental disabilities. The role uses ABA methodologies to promote academic, social, communication, and functional growth, with collaboration across a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include direct ABA instruction, data collection, BIP implementation, and supporting inclusion in various school settings.

Qualifications

  • Massachusetts DESE licensure in Moderate Disabilities (PreK–8) or Severe Disabilities or eligibility for licensure.
  • Knowledge of ABA principles and experience working with students with autism or developmental disabilities.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Master’s degree in Special Education preferred.
  • Experience implementing ABA programs in a public-school setting.
  • Familiarity with ABA data collection systems (ACE, data sheets, digital platforms).
  • Experience supervising or training paraprofessionals.

Job Description

The Elementary ABA Teacher for Glover School provides specialized instruction and behavioral support to students in grades K–3 with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and other learning or behavioral needs. Using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodologies, the teacher delivers individualized instruction, supports inclusion, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure student growth in academic, social, communication, and functional domains.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct ABA-based instruction using evidence‑based practices such as discrete trial teaching, natural environment teaching, task analysis, and reinforcement systems.
  • Develop and implement IEP-aligned instructional plans tailored to individual student needs.
  • Collect, analyze, and maintain ongoing data to monitor progress and adjust programming.
  • Implement Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) with fidelity and consistency.
  • Support students across school environments, including general education classrooms, specials, lunch, recess, and transitions.
  • Collaborate with BCBAs, special educators, general education teachers, related service providers, and paraprofessionals to ensure cohesive programming.
  • Provide coaching, modeling, and feedback to paraprofessionals implementing ABA strategies.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and team meetings.
  • Maintain a structured, positive, and safe learning environment that promotes independence, engagement, and self‑regulation.
  • Communicate regularly with families to support home‑school consistency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Student Services leadership.

Job Requirements

    Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • At least 2 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
