Job Description

Provides specialized behavior intervention services, program management, and executes changes in program under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or other related disabilities.

Works closely with the BCBA and Behavior Interventionists (BI) to provide intervention, conduct assessments, write progress reports, and develop programs for assigned cases.

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree from an accredited university with a concentration in psychology, early childhood education, child development, or special education.
  • Two years professional experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
  • Knowledge of scientifically-validated methodologies and approaches found to benefit children with ASD.
  • Familiar with and experience in intervention based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis. Competent in employing and directing behavior analytic methodologies including Discrete Trial Training, Pivotal Response Training (PRT), Natural Environment Teaching (NET), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Behavior Skills Training (BST), and Experimental Functional Analysis (EFA).
  • Good leadership, judgment, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality to handle sensitive/confidential situations and documentation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written, and work cooperatively. Must relate well to children and their families, maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) and related computer software.
  • Pass and maintain a criminal record/fingerprint clearance from the Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation.
  • Possess and maintain a current CPR certification card.
  • Ability to pass a post-offer physical examination and a TB test.
  • Ability to provide proof of required vaccinations or positive titer showing immunity. A signed declination may be acceptable for certain vaccinations
  • Ability to travel locally; maintain current auto insurance and vehicle registration
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred
Responsibilities
  • Supervises BI’s to ensure all recorded data is correct and accurate. Manages and maintains program records. Maintains data reliability and fidelity checks regularly. Plans/Leads monthly progress updates for each assigned family.
  • Assists in creating and delivering specific intervention activities and provides parent education per treatment plan. Monitors the skill acquisition in natural settings.
  • Completes necessary documentation including evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports, exit summaries, and client-related documents and reports.
  • Coordinates and provides on-going competency-based staff training. Attends meetings, in-services, treatment planning, trainings as requested.
  • Provides parent training on a weekly basis; including monitoring parent goals.
  • Provide onboarding support (e.g., attending 1st session, providing materials) for new BI's assigned to your caseload.
  • Remains current regarding new research, current trends and developments in autism, ABA, special education, and related fields.
  • Maintains frequent, professional, and courteous communications with clients and families. Communicates parental concerns and needs immediately to the case supervisor.
