Job summary

Hope Center for Behavior Change in West Palm Beach, FL seeks a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to manage the full lifecycle of ABA claims, ensuring accurate submissions and timely payments for our therapy practice. You will work on-site with the Billing Manager/Clinic Director, handle authorizations, denials, and payer communications across Florida payers including Medicaid, BCBS, and UnitedHealthcare.

The role requires 1–2 years ABA billing experience and proficiency with CentralReach,

Qualifications

• ABA billing experience preferred: 1–2 years.
• Proficiency in ABA platforms like CentralReach, Portia, or Catalyst.
• Knowledge of Florida Medicaid portals, EOBs, and COB.

Responsibilities

• Submit electronic and paper claims for ABA services (97151, 97153, 97155, etc.).
• Track and maintain authorizations to prevent denials.
• Research, appeal, and resolve denied or underpaid claims promptly.
• Post ERAs and patient payments into the practice management system.
• Maintain professional payer relationships with Florida payers (BCBS, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Florida Medicaid).

Location: West Palm Beach, FL (On-site)

Reports to: Billing Manager / Clinic Director

Salary Range: $22.00 – $27.00 per hour (DOE)

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our ABA therapy practice. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of claims—from initial submission to final payment. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring our therapists can focus on clinical care while you handle the complexities of Florida insurance and Medicaid reimbursements.

Key Responsibilities

• Claims Submission: Accurately submit electronic and paper claims for ABA services (97151, 97153, 97155, etc.).
• Authorization Management: Track and maintain active authorizations to prevent "rendered without auth" denials.
• Denial Management: Research, appeal, and resolve denied or underpaid claims in a timely manner.
• Payment Posting: Accurately post ERAs and patient payments into the practice management system.
• Payer Communication: Maintain professional relationships with major Florida payers (BCBS, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, and Florida Medicaid).

Required Qualifications

• ABA Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience specifically in ABA Therapy billing (preferred) or general medical billing.
• Software Savvy: Proficiency in ABA platforms like CentralReach, Portia, or Catalyst.
• Local Knowledge: Experience navigating Florida Medicaid portals and Florida-specific insurance nuances.
• Skills: Strong understanding of EOBs, COB (Coordination of Benefits), and the appeals process.
