Job summary

Hope Center for Behavior Change Inc in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist for ABA therapy billing. You will manage the full lifecycle of claims, from submission to final payment, ensuring smooth reimbursement and allowing therapists to focus on clinical care.

You will navigate Florida Medicaid and payer requirements, service BCBS, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, and Florida Medicaid, and help minimize denials while maintaining accurate postings and timely communications.

Qualifications

• ABA billing experience (1–2 years preferred)
• Familiarity with Florida Medicaid portals and insurance nuances
• Strong understanding of EOBs, COB, and appeals
• Proficient with ABA platforms CentralReach/Portia/Catalyst

Responsibilities

• Submit electronic and paper claims for ABA services (97151, 97153, 97155, etc.).
• Track and maintain active authorizations to prevent denials.
• Research, appeal, and resolve denied or underpaid claims promptly.
• Post ERAs and patient payments accurately in the practice management system.
• Maintain professional relationships with major Florida payers (BCBS, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Florida Medicaid)

Reports to: Billing Manager / Clinic Director

Salary Range: $22.00 – $27.00 per hour (DOE)

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join our ABA therapy practice. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of claims—from initial submission to final payment. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring our therapists can focus on clinical care while you handle the complexities of Florida insurance and Medicaid reimbursements.

Key Responsibilities

• Claims Submission: Accurately submit electronic and paper claims for ABA services (97151, 97153, 97155, etc.).
• Authorization Management: Track and maintain active authorizations to prevent "rendered without auth" denials.
• Denial Management: Research, appeal, and resolve denied or underpaid claims in a timely manner.
• Payment Posting: Accurately post ERAs and patient payments into the practice management system.
• Payer Communication: Maintain professional relationships with major Florida payers (BCBS, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, and Florida Medicaid).

Required Qualifications

• ABA Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience specifically in ABA Therapy billing (preferred) or general medical billing.
• Software Savvy: Proficiency in ABA platforms like CentralReach, Portia, or Catalyst.
• Local Knowledge: Experience navigating Florida Medicaid portals and Florida-specific insurance nuances.
• Skills: Strong understanding of EOBs, COB (Coordination of Benefits), and the appeals process.
