Job summary

Majestic Care ABA seeks an ABA Billing & Credentialing Specialist to support verification of benefits, prior authorizations, and provider credentialing. This in-office, part-time role (25 hours/week) in Queens, NY focuses on payer processes for commercial plans and Medicaid, ensuring accurate documentation and timely follow-up.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in healthcare billing, insurance verification, prior authorizations, credentialing, or related healthcare admin.
• ABA industry experience preferred, especially with VOB, authorizations, credentialing, or insurance workflows.
• Knowledge of commercial insurance plans and Medicaid enrollment.
• Experience submitting and tracking prior authorizations and reauthorizations.
• Experience verifying insurance benefits and coverage details.
• Experience with provider credentialing, payer enrollment, or recredentialing.
• Familiarity with CAQH, NPI requirements, payer portals, and Medicaid enrollment systems.
• Familiarity with ABA services, CPT codes, billing units, and payer authorization requirements.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accurate record-keeping.
• Strong organization and follow-through with multiple payers and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; professional in interfacing with payers and internal teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel/Google Sheets, EHRs, and payer portals; CentralReach is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Verify client insurance eligibility and benefits for ABA services, including coverage limits, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, out-of-pocket max, and authorization needs.
• Obtain, submit, and track initial and ongoing ABA prior authorizations and reauthorizations with commercial plans and Medicaid.
• Monitor authorization periods, units, service codes, and expiration dates; initiate renewals to avoid gaps.
• Maintain Verification of Benefits documentation and communicate coverage requirements to internal teams.
• Manage ABA provider credentialing and recredentialing with commercial payers and Medicaid, including applications and renewals.
• Maintain provider information and credentialing documentation (licenses, certifications, NPI, CAQH, etc.).
• Research payer-specific credentialing/enrollment requirements; ensure applications are complete and accurate.
• Follow up with insurance companies and Medicaid on pending authorizations, credentialing, enrollment, and documentation.
• Maintain accurate payer/provider/client/authorization records in internal systems.
• Collaborate with clinical, intake, scheduling, and billing teams to resolve issues.
• Keep detailed records of payer communications, status, and action items.
• Handle confidential information per HIPAA and company policies.
