Job summary

STAR ABA LLC in Ansonia, CT is seeking a Behavioral Technician to provide clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols under the supervision of a BCBA. You will serve children with autism and related developmental disabilities in home, community, clinic and school settings.

The role includes data collection, progress documentation, and parent training, with direct 1:1 and group client care using positive reinforcement and specialized teaching techniques.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and one year of direct relevant experience with youth and families.
  • Or an associate’s degree with a minimum of two years of direct relevant experience.
  • Strong organization and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and implements intervention strategies using direct therapy under BCBA supervision.
  • Teaches targeted behaviors with reward systems, incidental teaching, and pivotal response training.
  • Records and tracks data from training sessions.
  • Reinforces positive behavior with children on caseload.
  • Communicates effectively with administrators, parents and community members.
  • Provides accurate documentation of intervention goals and objectives.
  • Facilitates transitions between agencies and programs as service provision changes.
  • Identifies emergencies and ensures child safety.
  • Delivers direct client care in 1:1 and group settings using intensive teaching and natural environment training.
