Job summary

STAR ABA LLC in Meriden, CT is seeking a Behavioral Technician to deliver clinical skills instruction and behavior reduction protocols for children with Autism and related developmental disabilities in home, community, clinic and school settings.

You will collect data, assist with parent training, and work under the supervision of a Board‑Certified Behavior Analyst to implement interventions and document progress.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a human services field and 1 year direct relevant youth/family experience or an associate’s degree with 2 years of direct relevant experience.
  • Strong organization and communication skills are required.
  • Registered Behavior Technician certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement intervention strategies under BCBA supervision.
  • Teach targeted behaviors using reward systems, incidental teaching, and pivotal response training.
  • Record and track data from training sessions.
  • Reinforce positive behavior with children on caseload.
  • Communicate with administrators, parents and community members.
  • Provide accurate documentation of intervention, goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate transitions between agencies, programs, and professionals.
  • Identify emergencies and ensure child safety.
  • Provide 1:1 and group direct client care with intensive teaching.
  • Follow prescribed behavior skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols.
  • Collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.
  • Assist with parent training and caregiver education.
  • Discuss client progress with parents/caregivers as instructed by the BCBA.
