Responsibilities

• Make up lines for vessel handling.
• Stand lookout.
• Line handling during dockings, sailings or shifts.
• Maintain radio watch when required.
• Chipping and painting vessel and general maintenance as directed.
• Carry out engine room rounds and sanitation tasks.
• Clean wheelhouse, galley, heads and passageways.
• Prepare meals as directed by the Master.
• Perform other reasonable cleaning chores as directed.
• Report hazards and participate in safety drills.

Requirements

• - Prioritize safety above all else, including being knowledgeable of and accurately following company policies and procedures
• - Cooperatively and professionally follow orders from vessel Captain/Master (and his/her relief)
• - Create a positive work environment for all crew members onboard the vessel
• - Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally with vessel crew, operations teams, and corporate office team
• - Effectively work with vessel crew to complete customer jobs in a timely and efficient manner

- Operational Duties

• o Making up the lines for vessel handling
• o Standing lookout
• o Making up lines, line handling (including splicing and throwing lines) during dockings, sailings, or shifting
• o Maintaining radio watch when required.

- Maintenance Duties

• o Chipping and painting vessel
• o Other equipment maintenance as directed.
• o Carry out required engine room rounds
• o General Sanitation duties inside and outside the vessel as directed;
• o Cleaning or scouring the vessel;
• o Cleaning the wheelhouse and galley;
• o Cleaning the heads and companionways;
• o Prepares meals as directed by the Master of the vessel, and;
• o Performing other any reasonable cleaning chores as directed by the Master.

- Safety Duties

• o Reporting any hazardous or unsafe condition to the master and making “on-the-spot” corrections when capable.
