Job summary

Planned Parenthood Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley is seeking a Community Engagement Specialist to connect Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities with reproductive health information and services in the San Gabriel Valley and Northeast Los Angeles.

The role emphasizes culturally responsive outreach, bilingual/multilingual engagement, and collaboration with public affairs, clinics, and education teams to reduce barriers to access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• 1+ years building relationships with communities or partners.
• Knowledge of AANHPI communities and languages helpful.
• Conversational language skills in Cantonese, Mandarin, or Vietnamese desired.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Proficient with CRM software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with AANHPI communities and partners to expand access to services.
• Plan and attend community events, fairs, and gatherings to share information about services.
• Deliver culturally and linguistically responsive workshops and conversations on sexual and reproductive health and access to care.
• Create language-access messaging in languages spoken by the AANHPI community.
• Gather feedback to shape programs, services, and advocacy.
• Collaborate with partners to build visibility and presence for PPPSGV.
• Ensure advocacy programs are accessible and community-informed.
• Coordinate with clinical, communications, and policy teams to reflect community needs.
