Role Overview:

The Sonographer performs general and vascular sonography procedures according to department protocols, assisting physicians with interventional procedures, and ensuring high-quality imaging. Responsibilities include selecting appropriate technical parameters, participating in performance improvement, and adhering to compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Obtain high-quality scans suitable for interpretation.
• Review and document images thoroughly, re-scanning as needed.
• Complete exams efficiently, evaluating patient prep and scheduling accordingly.
• Utilize computer systems for documentation, updates, and billing accuracy.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment safely, following infection control standards.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of Ultrasound Program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• ARDMS or equivalent certification (e.g., ARRT, CCI, RDMS, RVT)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Graduate of Vascular Ultrasound Program
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in healthcare-related field
• Specialty certifications in Abdomen, OB/GYN, or Vascular from ARDMS
