Job summary

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility in Mobile, AL seeks a dedicated A220 Flightline Quality Inspector for 2nd shift. You will oversee quality activities from handover to customer delivery, ensuring system integrity and conformity with design specs during the flightline phase.

Responsibilities

  • Execute and verify Quality activities in the Flightline phase from handover from FAL through flight test to final delivery to customer.
  • Demonstrate aircraft system integrity and conformity per design specifications by verifying test procedures.
  • Coordinate with Liaison, FAL/Flightline, Design Office, Programs, and Quality teams.
  • Perform ground checks, static system tests, APU run, engine runs, and flight-test coordination.
  • Support improvement measures; clarify problems with engineering, customers, and suppliers.
  • Close Transport Canada snags; process FAA C of A applications; review service bulletins; approve MRB in non-conformance system.

Job Description:

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a A220 Flightline Quality Inspector to join our Team based in Mobile, AL on 2nd shift.

Meet the team:

As a CAT2 member of the Flightline Quality team, you are responsible for the execution and verification of the Quality activities in the Flightline phase, starting from the handover from the FAL, through the flight test phase, until the final delivery to the customer. This includes the demonstration of aircraft system integrity and conformity in accordance with the design specification by the verification of functional test procedures and declares the aircraft ready for the production flight testing phase.

Your challenges:
  • Evaluate test results by documenting the tests performed and the test.
  • Performs special inspections imposed by Restrictions and/or Special.
  • Serves as the flight test team Quality representative in technical review.
  • meetings with Liaison, FAL/Flightline, Design Office, Programs, and Quality teams.
  • Perform ground checks, static system tests, APU run, low and high power engine run, low speed test and compass swing; in accordance with the FTP and in coordination with the flight test department.
  • Support improvement measures. Clarify problems with engineering, customers, and suppliers.
  • Responsible for Closure of Transport Canada Snags.
  • Perform and sign the application for the FAA C of A.
  • Perform and approve service bulletins.
  • Perform MRB approval in the non-conformance management system.
  • Revise and approve flight permit.
  • Ensure aircraft conforms to its approved design data.
  • Support customer deliveries for any aspect of aircraft conformity and release for flight.
Your boarding pass:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Flightline quality inspector in the field of aeronautics.
  • Leadership experience preferred.
  • Airline experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Valid FAA A&P or TCCA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) M2 license required.
  • FAA Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.
  • Valid A220 type rating preferred.
Eligibility:
  • Eligible for employment in the US without sponsorship.
Physical Requirements:

Vision: adequate to read material on computer screens, and aircraft gauges. Able to identify individuals to initiate greetings, the giving of directions and other business interactions

Hearing: able to hear sufficiently to engage in conversation in office settings. Able to hear safety alerts and warning signals.

Speaking: able to engage in conversations in person and via electronic means and deliver information to groups of varying size with or without amplification.

Equipment Operation: Able to operate a wide range of personal and office electronic equipment. Working on fuselage jigs at a height of 15 feet. Able to work on hydraulic lifts sometimes at a height of up to 40 feet.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands (for ex. Lifting, working in heights): capable to support 2 shift system and occasional weekends, based on business needs.

Carrying: able to occasionally carry up to 55lbs/25kg while engaging in training, addressing production issues, or as part of
