Job Description

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Flightline Mechanic A220 to join our team based in Mobile, AL. The Flightline Mechanic is responsible for performing Functional Test Procedure (FTP), Pre & Post Flight inspection to prepare built aircraft for test flight and delivery readiness. This includes operating, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and inspecting aircraft systems using approved aircraft data. Proficiently operate and understand a wide variety of test equipment and tooling. Must be able to interpret technical manuals, drawings and engineering data to support tasks. Complete assigned tasks within the allocated man-hour budget and meet the guidelines of safety regulations, on quality and on cost.

Responsibilities
  • Perform aircraft system Final Test Procedure Test (FTP) / Pre /Post flight checklist / Daily Inspection (DI) to prepare built aircraft for test flight readiness.
  • Learn new tasks and techniques to troubleshoot aircraft systems and support Flight line operation at Airbus FAL Mobile.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions, repair and replace aircraft structures, components and systems of moderate difficulty; maintain and rework aircraft components including landing gear, flight surfaces, controls, anti-icing, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, ventilation, heating and cooling systems and cabin interior components.
  • Service, repair and prepare documentation in accordance with company procedure and specifications.
  • Perform post dock maintenance daily checklist, safety and security, incoming inspection.
  • Perform day to day planned and unplanned aircraft maintenance.
  • Participate actively in the development and improvement of system troubleshooting skills.
  • Execute refuel/defuel, aircraft jack and tow operations; perform miscellaneous aircraft services such as hydraulic and engine oil, tire/strut service and handle hazardous material policy.
  • Use and maintain aircraft unique tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, micrometers, and power equipment.
  • Prepare, seal and test aircraft using sealing techniques and sealants.
  • Read and interpret approved aircraft diagrams, charts, schematics and maintenance procedures (FTP, WO, AMM, IPC, AWD, SB, CMM).
  • Participate in process improvement, root cause analysis, 5S, and other tools to improve workload, quality, safety and reduce cycle time.
  • Participate in daily SQCDP projects and tool/FOD management.
  • Perform work in confined spaces, at height, and outdoors.
  • Support and train other aircraft technicians and maintain close working relationship with lead person regarding schedules, priorities, parts, supplies and tools.
Skills & Tools
  • Crane, cherry picker, fork lift, lifting platform, loading platform.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations regarding confined space entry, respiratory protection, personal PPE use.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and understand protective equipment, fall protection, hazardous communications and other regulations.

Qualifications

  • Technical systems proficiency: reading and interpreting aircraft diagrams, charts, schematics and maintenance procedures.
