Janus Soft is seeking an elite Software Development Engineer to architect and implement robust, event-driven architectures on Project Shining Star in Herndon, VA. In this role, you will design distributed, high-throughput systems that enhance end-to-end observability, enable real-time event tracking across complex data pipelines, and drive multi-domain data integration. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to build modular, fault-tolerant solutions that prioritize granular access control, real-time alerting, and digital record-keeping in direct support of national security operations.

Mandatory Skills

Clearance: Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph.

Core Languages & Paradigms: Advanced proficiency in Python, with proven experience in asynchronous and concurrent programming.

Messaging & Distributed Systems: Hands-on experience designing and deploying scalable, event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka and JSON data interchange protocols.

Observability & Infrastructure Monitoring: Demonstrated expertise with enterprise telemetry and logging tools, specifically Grafana and the ELK stack.

System Design & Resiliency: Strong foundation in building fault-tolerant, high-concurrency systems and modular data processing pipelines.

Desired Skills

Hands-on experience designing access control mechanisms within event-driven systems.

Proven expertise in modular system design for expanding data pipelines to support new domains and formats.

Experience architecting automated alerting, metrics collection, and digital record-keeping solutions.
