Job summary

Prairie Materials, a part of VCNA, is seeking a Bulker Driver to support cement logistics in the Chicago area. You will drive an up to 80,000 lb vehicle, operate a 42 ft trailer, load cement at plants, deliver and unload at sites, and keep the truck clean.

We value safety, reliability, and a strong work history. You must hold a Class A CDL, have Non-Excepted Interstate status, a clear MVR, and be eligible for a TWIC card; a DOT medical is required.

Qualifications

• Class A CDL with Non-Excepted Interstate status.
• Manual transmission commercial vehicle experience with no restricted license.
• Clear MVR and the ability to pass a DOT physical.
• Good work history and a DOT 10-year employer history requirement.
• Eligibility to obtain a TWIC card.

Responsibilities

• Drive up to an 80,000 lb vehicle.
• Operate a tractor with a 42 ft trailer.

Summary/Job Scope:

Bulker Driver

Purpose of Position:

Drive cement bulker to Chicago Terminal to pick up product and return to designated plants for unloading.

Key Responsibilities

• Driving up to an 80,000 lb vehicle
• Driving a tractor with a 42 ft trailer
• Loading cement into trailer at cement plants
• Delivering to our locations and unload cement
• Cleaning truck

Qualifications And Education

• Class A CDL
• CDL Classification "Non-Excepted Interstate"
• Manual Transmission Commercial Vehicle Experience* (must not have a restricted license)
• Clear MVR
• Successfully pass DOT physical
• Good work history
• DOT required 10 year previous employer history
• Eligible for a TWIC card

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to pass Department of Transportation (DOT) physical requirements.
• Climbing appx. 13 ft onto top of trailer
• Hooking product pipe to truck and plant
• Occasional/frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
• Occasional/frequent reaching, grabbing, pushing, and pulling.
• Occasional/frequent stooping, squatting, bending, and kneeling.
• Occasional pushing and pulling.
• Occasional/frequent twisting.
