Job summary

Superior Materials is hiring a truck driver to transport redi‑mix concrete from batch plants to customer sites in the Detroit area. You will unload materials, verify load quality, and maintain communication with dispatch to ensure timely deliveries.

Requirements include a CDL B with air brakes, ability to read maps and follow directions, and a clean driving record. The role includes physical tasks and customer interaction, with an emphasis on safety and proper equipment operation.

• Performing pre-trip vehicle safety inspections.
• Maintaining a clean vehicle.
• Reporting any maintenance requirements.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

Transports redi-mix concrete from batch plants to customer job sites and unloads materials.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Positioning truck under batch plant to be loaded
• Standing on catwalks and filling water tank
• Checking slump of load
• Picking up printed delivery ticket
• Delivering load to job site
• Working with customers to obtain vehicle access to job site

• Lifting, carrying and attaching chutes weighing up to 50 pounds
• Communicating with dispatcher using two-way radio system
• Making judgments about the accessibility of off road terrain

QUALIFICATIONS (Skills, knowledge, experience)

• Ability to read and write
• Commercial driver license with minimum of a “B” endorsement with air brakes
• Ability to understand oral and written instructions
• Good driving record
• Ability to read a map and follow directions

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Climbing in and out of a truck 20/30 times per day
• Climbing a ladder on the back of truck 10/20 times per day
• Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds
• Driving a vehicle
• Walking, sitting, standing for extended periods of time
