Job summary

Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, KS is seeking an SRC Tutor I A&P to assist students in Anatomy & Physiology across multiple modalities, lead review sessions, and guide learning with models and online resources.

The role is part-time and non-exempt, with a maximum of 12 hours per week, weekday mornings and evenings. Starting salary ranges from $16.68 to $21.23 per hour, dependent on experience, with no hybrid option.

Qualifications

• Requires basic skill set and proficiency.
• Closely supervised with little latitude for independent judgment.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students through drop-in, by-appointment, and/or semester-long tutoring (online and/or in-person) lower-level biology courses.
• Refer students to appropriate resources within the relevant resource center and larger Academic Resource Center.
• Refer students to appropriate resources outside the relevant resource center with consultation from supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records following FERPA and update staff on student progress.
• Assist in daily center activities, cover front desk, ensure check-in/out and uphold center policies.
• Assist with computer systems/software and troubleshoot issues affecting tutoring operations.
• Use scheduling system to manage tutoring schedules.
• Participate in mandatory center training and campus-wide training.
