Job summary

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance and repairs on our university aircraft fleet. You will work with minimal oversight, following FAA regulations and industry standards to ensure airworthiness across campuses in Daytona Beach and Prescott.

Qualifications

  • High school (or GED) level ability in spelling, grammar, basic composition, and math.
  • Read and comprehend instructions, write information, and complete simple forms.
  • Current Airframe and Powerplant Certificate required with no violations.
  • One to three years of related work experience.
  • Working knowledge of FAR 145, 91 and 43.
  • Aircraft Maintenance experience in maintaining light general aviation aircraft preferred.
  • Basic PC Software Skills (e.g. spreadsheet, word processing & database etc.)
  • PowerPoint, Word, Outlook/email, and Internet end‑user applications preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform authorized maintenance, preventive maintenance, and unscheduled repairs on aircraft, engines, and appliances.
  • Assist the Shift Lead with maintenance operations and inventory control.
  • Complete documentation for maintenance forms, inspection reports, and aircraft logbooks.
  • Respond to maintenance needs promptly, including on weekends and holidays, as required.
  • Familiarity with FAA regulations, approved inspection programs, and airworthiness standards.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety.
