Job summary

Textron Aviation in Birmingham, AL is seeking a full-time A&P Mobile Service Technician (First Shift). You will maintain and repair aircraft, diagnose mechanical issues, and coordinate with crew and customers while assisting the lead mechanic and keeping the mobile service vehicle in top condition.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, repair and replacement of aircraft systems, proper FAR 43 documentation, parts coordination, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High school education or GED required.
• A&P license required.
• Knowledge of inspection procedures set forth in FAR Part 145 is required.
• A minimum of 3 years experience with diversified jet, turboprop, piston, modification, aircraft/flight maintenance.
• Experience on Cessna, Beechcraft, or Hawker aircraft is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Aircraft Maintenance and Repair: Perform diagnostic and mechanical duties on various aircraft models, including disassembly, repair, replacement, reassembly, and adjustment of aircraft systems.
• Inspection and Documentation: Check, correct, or replace complex aircraft assemblies and systems; ensure compliance with FAR 43 documentation and maintain logs.
• Parts Management: Order parts for repairs and ensure cores are returned per procedures.
• Safety and Quality Control: Ensure maintenance and alterations comply with QC procedures; monitor for unsafe acts.
• Team Collaboration: Work with lead MST and avionic technicians to meet customer expectations.
• Mobile Service Vehicle Maintenance: Assist the Lead MST in inspecting and servicing equipment and ensuring the vehicle is safe to operate.

We are hiring immediately for a full-time A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) mechanic or AMT (Aircraft Maintenance Technician).

What you will be doing as an A & P Mobile Service Technician:

You can expect to maintain and repair aircraft, diagnose mechanical issues, and coordinate with the crew and customers. You’ll assist the lead mechanic, ensure customer satisfaction, and keep the service vehicle in top condition. Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):

• Aircraft Maintenance and Repair : Perform diagnostic and mechanical duties on various aircraft models, including disassembly, repair, replacement, reassembly, and adjustment of aircraft systems. Ensure work is completed timely and in accordance with established policies, procedures, and quality standards

• Inspection and Documentation : Check, correct, or replace complex aircraft assemblies and systems. Ensure compliance with FAR 43 documentation requirements while maintaining accurate written reports in logs and inspection documents

• Parts Management : Order and obtain necessary parts for aircraft repairs, ensuring cores are returned per established procedures

• Safety and Quality Control : Ensure all maintenance, preventive maintenance, alterations, or specialized services comply with Quality Control procedures while monitoring the work environment and correcting unsafe acts

• Team Collaboration : Work as part of a team to meet customer expectations, assisting mechanics and avionic technicians as needed

• Mobile Service Vehicle Maintenance : Assist the Lead MST in inspecting, maintaining, and servicing equipment and tooling in the mobile service vehicle. Ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition, with proper fluid levels, tire pressures, and other necessary inspections and repairs
