Job summary

USA Jet Power Maintenance Base in Oscoda, Michigan is hiring a certified A&P Mechanic to join its engine repair team. You will overhaul, maintain and repair powerplants and related components according to manufacturer and FAA guidelines, signing off work as you go.

Ideal candidates hold an A&P certificate, a high school diploma or GED, and at least one year of aviation experience, including JT8D engines. You will work in a safety‑driven environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current airframe and powerplant certificate (A&P).
• Minimum 1 year aviation maintenance experience, preferably on JT8D engines.
• Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements (FAA).
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, bulletins, and safety procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.

Responsibilities

• Overhaul, maintenance and repair of powerplants and related components according to manuals and orders.
• Sign for work accomplished and maintain safety standards.
• Remain alert for defective parts and unsafe conditions.
• Assist with housekeeping and maintenance of company property.
• Participate in USA Jet Safety Programs and report safety concerns.
• Follow OSHA standards at the work location.
