Job summary

USA Jet Power in Oscoda, Michigan, is seeking qualified A&P mechanics to overhaul, maintain and repair jet engine powerplants and related components. You will sign off on work, monitor for defective parts, and ensure safe working conditions in a busy maintenance environment.

Requirements include a current A&P certificate, a high school diploma or GED, and at least 1 year of aviation experience with JT8D engines or related shop work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must possess a current airframe and powerplant certificate.
• Minimum 1 year aviation experience with JT8D engines or Jet Engine Shop experience.
• Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements (FAA).
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, and manuals.
• Able to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Must maintain calm under adverse conditions and handle time-sensitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Overhaul, maintain and repair powerplants and components per manuals, bulletins and orders.
• Sign for work accomplished.
• Identify and address defective or worn parts; uphold safe working conditions.
• Perform housekeeping duties as needed; maintain work area and Company property.
• Participate in USA Jet Safety Programs and report safety concerns promptly.
• Follow OSHA standards at the work location; perform tasks as directed by Lead or Senior Manager.
