Job summary

Aviation Institute of Maintenance (AIM) in Chicago is seeking experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technicians to become instructors. You will deliver FAA‑aligned, hands‑on curriculums, mentoring students toward A&P certification and guiding practical skills in hangar and classroom environments.

Open to experienced AMTs; no prior teaching required, with a 5‑day paid instructor training program. A competitive package includes a $5,000 sign‑on bonus and full‑time schedules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; an associate degree is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Teach FAA Part 147 aligned aircraft maintenance curriculum in hands‑on settings.
• Deliver curriculum to prepare students for A&P certification.
• Maintain attendance, grades, and student progress records.
• Support curriculum updates and collaborate with program leadership.
• Maintain classroom, lab equipment and training materials.
