Job summary

Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Manassas, VA, is seeking experienced Aircraft Maintenance Technicians to join as instructors. You will deliver FAA-aligned curriculum, provide hands-on instruction, and mentor aspiring technicians, shaping the next generation of aviation professionals.

Preferred candidates have 3+ years in aircraft maintenance and an A&P certificate. No prior teaching experience is required; training will be provided through a 5-day paid instructor program.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in aviation or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience.
• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Teach aircraft maintenance systems, procedures, and techniques in a hands-on environment.

About The Role

As an Aircraft Maintenance Instructor (A&P Mechanic Instructor), you will deliver FAA Part 147‑aligned aviation maintenance curriculum and provide hands‑on instruction to students preparing for careers as aircraft maintenance technicians (AMTs).

This role is ideal for experienced A&P mechanics, aircraft mechanics, and aviation maintenance professionals who want to combine technical expertise with mentorship and training while delivering hands‑on aviation maintenance instruction in classroom and active hangar environments.

Schedule Options

• Option 1: Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm EST (with flexibility on Fridays)
• Option 2: Evening shift: Monday - Thursday: 3:00 pm EST - 11:30 pm EST & Fridays are flexible
• Option 3: Weekend shift: Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday: 7:00 am - 5:00 pm EST

Key Responsibilities
