Job summary

SNC is seeking an experienced A&P Mechanic III to lead maintenance projects, diagnose complex issues, and mentor junior mechanics. You will perform advanced diagnostics and repairs, ensuring all work meets stringent safety and regulatory standards.

The role requires FAA A&P certification, a minimum of 3 years' experience, and the ability to interpret technical schematics. Candidates should have reliable transportation and own tools in good condition.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Active, current FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification with no prior FAA violations.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations.
• Ability to understand and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and publications.
• Advanced skills in repairing, maintaining and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines.
• Must have own tools in good working order.
• Pass and maintain Class 3 Physical requirements, including a hearing test.

• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
• Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification with no prior FAA violations.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations.
• Ability to understand and interpret applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.
• Advanced skills in repairing, maintaining and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines.
• Must have own tools in good working order.
• Pass and maintain Class 3 Physical requirements, including a hearing test.

Qualifications We Prefer

• Associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance or related field.
• Extensive experience with specific aircraft models.
• Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills.
• FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience.
• Able to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends.
• Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (FAR/DFARS).
• Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

• Ability to detect auditory signals from machinery or equipment, which may indicate issues.
• Ability to navigate various work environments, including climbing ladders, crawling in confined spaces, and working at heights.
• Ability to drive or operate a vehicle for frequent travel to customer locations.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks, including repairs, installations, and maintenance.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols.
• Strong awareness of safety protocols and ability to adhere to safety guidelines in potentially hazardous environments.
• Ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
