Job Summary:

To repair, maintain, overhaul, and troubleshoot airframes, engine systems, parts, and components. Performs 100-hour and progressive inspections as well as modification work on customer aircraft. This position requires regional travel; when not traveling, work will be at the designated Service Center.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Perform diagnostic and mechanical duties on jet, turboprop, and piston multi-engine aircraft, including diagnosing malfunctions, disassembly, rework, repair, replacement, reassembly, or adjustment of aircraft systems to ensure aircraft are mechanically ready for flight and delivery.
  2. Check, correct, or replace complex aircraft assemblies, landing gear, air conditioning, pressurization, turbocharges, and optional equipment installations.
  3. Repair or replace engine components and accessory items such as carburetors, fuel control units, fuel injection systems, oil and fuel pumps, starters/generators, and hydraulic and vacuum pumps.
  4. Perform inspections per FAR 43, including 100-hour, annual, and progressive inspections. Conduct modifications, minor upholstery, and touch-up paint work.
  5. Maintain clear, concise, and accurate documentation in logs, inspection reports, and parts issue/return documents.
  6. Conduct functional checks, engine test runs, instrument tests, alignment, and preventive maintenance; perform rigging, throttle synchronization, and stop setting.
  7. Observe mechanical systems during flight when required and troubleshoot in-shop repairs.
  8. Ensure all duties are performed safely, adhering to the latest standards to maintain aircraft airworthiness and reliability.
  9. Use specialized tools such as tensiometers, micrometers, pressure gauges, dial gauges, vacuum gauges, and timing lights for repairs and modifications.
  10. Guide and instruct 1-2 lower classification helpers for 50% or more of the time.
  11. Obtain and maintain an Airport Security Badge if applicable.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • A&P License is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems, blueprints, specifications, and arithmetic required.
Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of varied jet, turboprop, piston, modification, 100-hour, and annual service experience as an A&P Mechanic.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain airport security clearance if applicable.
