Job summary

Textron Aviation is seeking an experienced A&P Mechanic A-573 for weekend day shifts at our Wichita Service Center. You will work hands-on with airframe and powerplant systems, diagnose issues, perform complex repairs, and ensure aircraft are ready for delivery.

Requirements include an FAA A&P license, a minimum of 5 years of diverse aircraft maintenance experience, and knowledge of FAR 43 inspections. Safety and quality are top priorities, with opportunities for career growth within our service

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license required.
  • Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience including jet, turboprop, and piston aircraft.
  • Knowledge of FAR 43 inspection procedures and experience performing 100‑hour and annual inspections.
  • Preferred: experience in a customer service facility performing inspections and repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and system malfunctions across jet, turboprop, and multi‑engine aircraft, ensuring root cause identification and efficient repair.
  • Disassemble, repair, replace, and reassemble aircraft systems and components, including aftermarket modifications.
  • Perform system testing, engine runs, and alignments to ensure operational and safety standards before delivery.
  • Conduct 100‑hour, annual, and progressive inspections per FAR 43 requirements and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Complete detailed maintenance logs, inspection reports, and parts documentation for traceability.
  • Provide customer‑focused maintenance support and mentor less experienced technicians.

We are hiring immediately for full-time Airframe & Power Plant (A&P) Mechanic in our Wichita Service Center.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you can expect to work hands‑on with advanced aircraft systems, supporting aftermarket modifications and maintenance in a fast‑paced service center environment. You’ll play a critical role in delivering high‑quality aircraft to customers by diagnosing issues, performing complex repairs, and ensuring systems are fully operational. This is an opportunity to apply your technical expertise while directly impacting the customer experience. Your responsibilities may include (but not limited to):

  • Aircraft Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and system malfunctions across jet, turboprop, and multi‑engine aircraft, ensuring accurate root cause identification and efficient repair execution.
  • Repair & System Modifications: Perform disassembly, repair, replacement, and reassembly of aircraft systems and components, including supporting aftermarket modifications and upgrades to meet customer specifications
  • System Testing & Operational Checks: Conduct functional tests, engine runs, and system alignments, ensuring all avionics and mechanical systems meet operational and safety standards prior to delivery
  • Inspection & Compliance: Execute 100‑hour, annual, and progressive inspections in accordance with FAR 43 requirements, maintaining strict adherence to regulatory and quality standards
  • Technical Documentation & Reporting: Complete detailed and accurate maintenance logs, inspection reports, and parts documentation to support compliance and traceability
  • Customer-Focused Maintenance Support: Support service center operations by delivering reliable, high‑quality maintenance solutions, occasionally troubleshooting in‑flight issues and mentoring less experienced technicians
What You’ll Need to be Successful
  • High school diploma, equivalent certificate, or WorkKeys Bronze certification
  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license
  • Minimum 5 years of aircraft maintenance experience, including jet, turboprop, and piston aircraft
  • Knowledge of FAR 43 inspection procedures and experience performing 100‑hour and annual inspections
  • Preferred: Experience in a customer service facility performing inspections and repairs
