Job summary

Joby Aviation is seeking a Deployable Flight Test Mechanic to maintain and sustain deployed J208 aircraft within our FAA-certified program. You will perform airframe, powerplant, and system maintenance in field environments while interfacing with customers and reporting maintenance trends to engineering.

The role requires an FAA A&P certificate, 3+ years of hands-on aircraft maintenance, and the ability to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• FAA A&P certificate required.
• Minimum 3+ years hands-on aircraft maintenance.
• Understand mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic aircraft systems.
• Active US security clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled and unscheduled airframe and powerplant maintenance per FAA regulations and specs.
• Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections, ground handling, servicing, and field repairs on deployed sites.
• Represent Joby maintenance standards to military and civil stakeholders on evaluation sites.
• Document maintenance events, track component reliability, and report anomalies to engineering.
• Maintain ground support equipment and tool accountability during remote deployments.
