Job summary

Elliott Aviation in Des Moines, IA seeks a Service Technician to perform inspection, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance on airframe, engine, and component systems across multiple aircraft models. You will work with limited supervision, maintain records, mentor junior technicians, and ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company procedures.

FAA A&P certificate and 3–5 years experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; FAA A&P certificate preferred.
• 3–5 years aircraft maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of FAR Parts 43, 65, 91, 135, 145.
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read/interpret manuals and engineering documents.
• Experience working independently with good communication.
• Mentoring or assisting less experienced technicians is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, repair aircraft and engine systems across models.
• Troubleshoot, function test with minimal supervision.
• Complete maintenance records, work orders, and compliance docs.
• Read and interpret manufacturer manuals, service data, and specs.
• Order, receive, track, and process parts as needed.
• Support aircraft delivery activities and ensure timely completion.
• Mentor junior technicians and promote best practices.
• Maintain FAA compliance and safety; keep work area clean.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
